Originating in Australia as a white wool cross of 1/4 Lincoln and 3/4 Merino breeds. The long stapled fine wool quickly gained popularity with both manufacturers and shepherds. The Polwarth breed has also become popular with U.S. range flock producers. Soft and springy, the wool handles similar to Rambouillet. Micron 23-25 or Bradford 58-60.
