The sheep began inhabiting this spot of land in 1991. There have been many over the years--a couple of Rambouillet ewes, a Romney ram, Leicester longwools, a Merino ewe, Bluefaced Leicesters, Gotland crosses and a Corriedale cross ram that Mrs. LB said had a nose like velvet and smelled like heaven. Personally, I never understood that relationship but she sure did love old Billy. While other breeds had a representative here or there, the CVMs came in 1991 and stayed. The first came from Linda Pfeiffer's Cascade CVM flock. The second and third migrations came from Mark & Karen Eidman's...
The Cautionary Tale of a Tick Bite
Posted by Lewis White on
About three years ago, I was bitten by a tick. I know you're thinking, "so what" right? That's about as much thought as I gave it at the time. Fast forward to fall 2018. I ate some ice cream one night and broke out in hives. Strange occurrence as I don't have any food allergies. I put it off to a food additive or dye and changed brands. We are sorry to disappoint the loyal customers that have supported us. We will be posting products on the website and Ebay for those interested in our fibers.

Of course, the relay in the old 1940's floor furnace picked this moment to burn out so that's on the immediate agenda for service this week. Glad we have the fireplace as back up. Mrs LB is all about redundancy in anything life sustaining. I have her to thank for forcing a house design that heats...

Had wonderful weather at Rhinebeck. Seemed a little warmer than normal to me but I may be wrong. We are having a colder than normal snap down here and that may be throwing me off. Show was good. Wonderful to see everyone and thanks to all those that stopped by the booth. Rushed home, caught a few ZZZZs, ran out for chicken feed and dog food and have been in a frenzy of repacking & restocking for SAFF in Asheville, N.C. Our farrier visit is this afternoon and then I'll be hitting the road again. Mrs LB started on the...
